Meet the President

              

DANIEL S. MACDONALD, JR.

 

 

            In 1989, Daniel S. MacDonald, Jr. established MDIC Investment Company, . as a financial services company specializing in mutual funds.  MacDonald services domestic and foreign customers by designing investment programs and investment strategies for both individual and corporate clients.  In 1999, MDIC joined the broker-dealer Cadaret, Grant, & Company Inc. to broaden the range of services available to its clients.

 

            MacDonald brings over 30 years of experience in the mutual fund industry as well as a solid knowledge of foreign markets to MDIC.  He started in the mutual fund business at Oppenheimer Management Corporation, a 118 billion dollar mutual fund complex.  In his 13 years at Oppenheimer, he moved from a wholesaler to Regional Vice President in California to National Sales Manager and Senior Vice President in New York.  He was recruited to become President of NSR Distributors in New York, a 2.5 billion dollar mutual fund company and held this position for 3 years.

 

            MacDonald holds an MBA in Business Administration, is a Certified Financial Planner, a Certified Estate Planner, a General Principal and Financial Principal of the FINRA, and holds licenses in real estate, insurance and general securities.  He is a member of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners, the Association of Financial Planners, the Junior Chamber International, and an Associate Member of the Investment Company Institute.

 

            Prior to becoming involved in the financial services industry, MacDonald resided in Japan for 10 years and served as an International Liaison for the Japan Junior Chamber of Commerce in Tokyo, Japan from 1967 to 1970.  In this capacity, he traveled extensively throughout America, Asia and Europe.  He is a Senator (#11863) of The Junior Chamber International.

 

            MacDonald resides in Bronxville with his wife Kathleen where they raised their two children, Daniel and Christine.  He’s been a member of the Bronxville Rotary Club since 1991 and served as it’s President from 1998 to 1999.  MacDonald raised $400,000 as the 1989-1990 Capital Campaign Manager for the Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe.  He was the 1990-1991 President of this organization, which supports non-profit and volunteer activities.  MDIC, Investment Company  has managed assets for many non-profit organizations including the Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe.
